Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you based?

I’m based in Worth, CT14.  Worth is on the main road between Sandwich and Deal, easily accessible from Ramsgate, Ash, Eastry, Westmarsh, Wingham, Canterbury, Margate and Broadstairs, and surrounding villages.

Can I park outside?

Yes, there is parking outside on the drive.  Once you arrive, please park on the gravel drive and come through the double wooden gates to the treatment room where I will be waiting for you.

What should I wear?

Whatever you’re comfortable in.
For hands-on treatments like massage, most people undress to their underwear, but this is always your choice. You’ll be covered / draped with sheets at all times, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered.  Your dignity is protected at all times.

For some treatments, such as reflexology, only your lower legs and feet will be exposed so clothing you feel comfortable in is best.

For men having massage, boxers or running shorts are perfect.

Will I need to remove my clothes?

Some treatments may involve removing outer layers of clothing so the treatment can be carried out properly. Your dignity is always protected with towels, a sheet or a blanket, and only the area being treated will be uncovered.

If you’d rather not undress, please let me know before your appointment and we can adapt the treatment in a way that feels most comfortable for you.

Will I be lying on my front or back?

It depends on the treatment you schedule.
Some start face down, some face up, and some involve turning part way through.

I’ll explain what’s required prior to the start of the treatment and help you move comfortably if needed.

Treatments can always be adapted, for example, side-lying for pregnant ladies during massage of the back.

Do I need to tell you about injuries or medical issues?

Yes please — even if it feels minor.
Cuts, burns, bruises, headaches, skin reactions, changes in your medical history, recent procedures, long-term conditions or anything that feels relevant should be mentioned.

This helps me tailor your treatment safely and comfortably.

Should I take my shoes off?

For most relaxing treatments, yes — you’ll be more comfortable without them.
Socks can stay on if you prefer, unless it’s a foot treatment.

Should I remove jewellery or my watch?

It is greatly appreciated if you can kindly remove any jewellery or watches from the area being treated.
This helps ensure the smooth flow of your treatment and for your safety.

Will the treatment hurt?

Treatments should not be painful.
Some techniques can feel strong or a little uncomfortable on tight areas, but nothing should feel sharp or overwhelming.

You’re encouraged to speak up at any time — pressure and techniques can always be adjusted.  If you would prefer a different pressure please do not hesitate to ask. It’s your time and your treatment.

Do I need to talk during my treatment?

Only if you want to.
Some people enjoy chatting, others prefer quiet time, and some drift off to sleep. There’s no expectation either way — this is your time.

What if I fall asleep, snore, drool, or feel emotional?

All these reactions are completely normal and, rest assured, all of these have happened in the treatment room previously.

People relax in different ways at different times.

Personally I always take it as a complement if someone is relaxed enough to drift off during their treatment.

This is your time, whatever feels right for you, you are welcome.

Can treatments help headaches, stress, or muscle pain?

Often yes.
Treatments can help ease tension, support relaxation and improve general wellbeing.

Everyone responds differently, so results can vary, but many people find treatments helpful as part of their self-care routines.

How often should I come for treatments?

That depends on your needs and goals.
Some people come occasionally for relaxation, others attend more regularly to help manage ongoing tension or stress.

People recovering from surgical procedures are recommended to have a minimum of ten sessions post surgery.

Every client’s wishes and objectives are different.  Please do not hesitate to ask if you would like guidance. We can talk this through together and find what feels right for you.

What should I do after my treatment?

Individual treatments tend to have their own unique aftercare recommendations and these will be discussed at your appointment.

As a general rule of thumb, drink plenty of water and take things gently for 24-48 hours after your treatment if you can.
You may feel relaxed, energised, or slightly achy — all normal responses.

Try to avoid rushing straight back into stress where possible.

Is there anything I should avoid before my appointment?

If you can, avoid heavy meals, alcohol, or strongly perfumed products before your treatment.

For some treatments, tying long hair back can also help.

What if I’m unsure or feel nervous?

That’s fairly common, especially if it’s your first visit.

If you’re unsure about anything at all, please ask, I am here to help.

What if I’m not sure which treatment to choose?

That’s absolutely fine, I’m always here to help.

Whether  you have a specific concern, or you’re just not sure which treatment would suit you best, you’re very welcome to get in touch. I’m happy to talk things through and help you choose a treatment that feels right for you.

Please email me and we’ll take it from there.

What if I’m running late?

If you think you’re going to be late, please try to text or email me as soon as you can to let me know.

Your appointment will still finish at the original end time, as I can’t run over without affecting other clients. This means your treatment may need to be slightly shorter if you arrive late.

Thank you for understanding — it helps the day run smoothly for everyone.
